BUT NOT THE BRITISH CHILDREN

Here's why George Washington would not save the British children. No, not the British children. (ref. 1238903387) This brilliant child of the British isles, shown mid-chair blast below, has produced an epic tale of love, loss, and redemption over three powerful YouTube videos.

I present them here now, seeing as the mainstream media has yet again ignored the plea of the underground filmmaker. It's sad really. He's such the perfect gentleman, only requesting that you "Watch and enjoy". (It's all I could decipher from his mush-mouth jabber-speak) I'm sure that you will.

I'm sure I'm behind the curve, but I'm enjoying the hell out of the George Washington video, which I had never seen until today. Love it.

P.S. I've already read Blankets and Watchmen and love, love, love them both. Do you really think I should avoid Ghost World? Also, what do you think are the best Comic Book Shops in my area (if you know of any, after being away so long). I also loved The Dark Knight Returns so I'm not anti-tights or anything, so any suggestions in that realm are also welcome.

This goes out to all the Placemaniacs, not just the head maniac - any comics or graphic novels I must read?

In no particular order:

1) "Wanted" (published by TopCow I think). Distantly related to the recently made crappy movie.
2) "300" (by Frank Miller)
3) "League of Extraordinary Gentlemen"
4) "Ultimates" - Avengers (Marvel, currently 4 out, interesting new take on one of the original hero superteams, now showing up as movies)
5) "Hellblazer" (just the collections of the comic series. A neat blend of horror and magic)
6) "Hellboy" (not related to the above, but in the same vein.)

Well super then!

As to shops, if you're just looking for GNs, Border's or whatever will have all you want more than likely. Except for Indy stuff. Though most comic shops don't have decent Indy selections either. I know nothing about comics up in your area, but I know they're out there.

I'll stress one more time: FABLES!

If you like zombies done right and want to read what HBO should really do for it's next series instead of fucking sexy Vampire crap, check out The Walking Dead.

Lobot how dare you "dig" his bullshit Man Utd shirt! I knew there was a reason I should keep my eye on you...come on you Blues!

BTW, Avengers Ultimates are also animated flicks that can be purchased in the checkout lane at Target...I bought #2 about a year ago, tis dope Nazi Alien Shapechangers and the origins of the Black Panther.

Clearly I'm distraught as I can't even type coherant sentences...

Wait. I'm completely confused at this point...

I thought that AIG was some sort of auto insurance company. And when I said "dig" the sarcasm was dripping - but the usual internet delivery system failure strikes again.

MM...what are you talking about?!? Christiano Ronaldo jersey? Please help me? Is there some sort of sports thing going on here that I just don't get?

Yer both missing each other's hillariousness and sarcasm.

The deal: Football.

Manchester United is sponsored by AIG. Murphy is a ravenous crazy person nutcase Chelsea fan. Man U beat Chelsea in a heartbreaking shootout where some dude slipped in the rain and missed the winning goal. Despite the fact that the much lauded Ronaldo missed a goal as well and opened the chance for a super double sweet win. It hurt to watch.

Though secretly, Murphy likes Ronaldo, because you can't deny the boy has sick talent. But it's fun to hate on the dude.

I back the following suggestions by The Devil.

Mouse Guard by David Petersen
The Marquis by Guy Davis
The New Frontier (DC Comics) by Darwyn Cooke

...and of course...

FABLES.

I just wanted to thank Aimee for coining the phrase "placemaniacs."

That is a genuine thank you. No misinterpretable sarcasm.

She may be credited for spreading the usage and certainly inspiring it. But not the coinage!
